Most residents take good care of their properties - many of which are historic homes. Downtown (Main St) businesses are easily accessible by walking for more than half the residents. The location is very convenient to downtown and the airport (10 minutes), adjacent to I-70, and close to Easton (under 15 minutes). ![]() During the pandemic, all students with unreliable home wifi were given free wifi mobile hotspots and free ipads are offered to students in need. The public schools are extremely well funded and very highly ranked. ![]() Bexley is heavily democratic - about 80% of the yard signs for the 2020 Presidential election were for Biden. I think Shaker people are some of the most fascinating, open-minded, ambitious people I’ve met anywhere, and our schools/community can be thanked for that, we all learn instruments, languages, deep, developed history, my AP classes were harder than most college courses I’ve taken. But going to Shaker public schools, at least for me, is something I’m so grateful for, people in Shaker are educated to a fault. We were one of the first planned communities in the US, and designed by the Van Sweringen brothers (Terminal Tower) TO be connected to downtown via light rail, which we are, the RTA has trains running between Van Aken AND Shaker Boulevard every day, that you get to yourself often. Its an incredibly diverse community, and Shaker's whole thing is its history of diversity, schools, and pride in architecture and our unique urban design. Former Resident: Shaker is one of the most gorgeous suburbs in the country, I can’t even believe I got to grow up here.
